Smooth Words
Daniel's Perspective on the Great Commission
Phlip G. Bowersox

Genteel or Maśkîlîm?

On the radar for today’s church is the dire need to view the Great Commission in a new light. With smooth words the enemy is lulling saints to sleep. Daniel is a prophetic and urgent call for 21st century Maśkîlîm to recalibrate our missional tactics.

Philip G. Bowersox earned his BA from Oklahoma State University and his ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also graduated from the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania. Educated in sound theology and military strategy, Bowersox is well-positioned for training good soldiers of Jesus Christ, as his witnesses, that they may please him who enlisted them.
Philip and his wife, Barbara, reside in Oklahoma City where he planted and pastors Grace Bible Church, a congregation in the Reformed tradition with expository preaching. They have two adult children, William and Charles.

Deception, including self-deception, concerning the gospel and discipleship is a perennial danger for Christians. This book exposes the prevalence of deception and confusion within the church today, and presents solutions true to Scripture particu-larly about the doctrines of justification and sanctification, notably the often overlooked relevance of the book of Daniel. Richard B. Gaffin, Jr., Ph.D.

Because deceivers are present both outside and inside the church, we must speak truth to those who might be enamored with soft words and led astray wherever deceivers appear. Skeptical as we are, you and I might ask, how seriously should we take these threats? Our Lord himself warns us that the spread of the gospel to the nations brings with it the spread of false doctrine and deception among those nations. Fowler White, Ph.D.
